Deacon was a beacon of light for all who came across his path. From a super friendly 3-year-old English black lab that my wife, Celeste, rescued from Saratoga Springs, New York at the request of a college friend, to the addition to our family.

Inaptly named Jeter but re-born as Deacon, he was loyal from the founding of StarTek, 10 years ago, to his passage on December 30, 2021.

His many day and night shifts as StarTek’s CDO (Chief Dog Officer) are the stuff of legends. He seldom took PTO and was willing to work for water, food, exercise, and love.

He welcomed reps, vendors, channel partners, creatives, delivery personnel, and our fantastic mail carrier (that’s you, Brenda) with his signature smile, twirling tail, and belly roll. His presence was the calm in the midst of our recent whirlwind growth and the last couple of tumultuous years.

He was a constant reminder of the best of virtues: loyalty, trust, and accountability. He will be remembered for his video appearances, the StarTek blog, StarTek’s 2021 Christmas card, his own Christmas tree ornament, and his strength to see one more Christmas with six affectionate and admiring grandchildren. He was preceded in his crossing over by Corby, the family’s Notre Dame-named yellow lab.

First in our hearts and a true star in the StarTek universe,
